FootballJadon Sancho Fires Back at Ten Hag for Reasons of His Omission From Squad Against Arsenal
- Manchester United lost 3-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium yesterday
- Jadon Sancho was not included in the matchday squad for the fourth league game of the season
- Erik ten Hag defended the player's omission, but the player hit out at his manager
Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho are embroiled in a media war after the manager's comments on the player's omission from the matchday squad were debunked by the Englishman.
Arsenal came back from a goal down to beat ten Hag's men 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, move back into the top 6 of the Premier League, and leave the Red Devils in the bottom half.
Marcus Rashford put the visitors ahead, but captain Martin Odegaard responded immediately to end the first 45 minutes level. More drama ensued in the second half.
Declan Rice scored his first game for Arsenal after controlling and volleying home from Bukayo Saka's corner. Gabriel Jesus embarrassed Diogo Dalot before slotting past Andre Onana.
What ten Hag said about Sancho
The Dutch manager was asked why the former Borussia Dortmund star Sancho was omitted, and his comments showed the player in a bad light, with claims that he had not been training well.
"Jadon was [absent] on his performance on the training. We didn't select him. You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices on the frontline, so for this game he wasn't selected," ten Hag said, via SportBible.

The player did not take the comments in good faith and branded his manager's comments as "untrue" and "scapegoating" in a post on his Twitter page that has gone viral.
"Please don't believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week," Sancho responded.
Ten Hag hails Man Utd character after 'horror' start against Forest
Football"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!
"All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!"
Rival fans troll Onana
Sports Brief also reported that fans trolled Andre Onana after the goalkeeper shipped three goals against Arsenal to take his total goals conceded this season to eight.
The Cameroonian became one of the world's most expensive goalkeepers in the world when he was signed by United to replace David De Gea, who left at the expiration of his contract. Onana has only shown glimpses of his passing range; he has yet to show that he's better than the Spaniard.
