Scoring three goals in a Premier League match is one exciting stat for a striker, and on Match Day 4 of the 2023/2024 season, Erling Haaland and Son Heung-min netted three goals each.

Haaland found the back of the net three times as Manchester City thrashed Fulham 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium, helping his side maintain a perfect start to the season.

The Norwegian, who arrived at Manchester City last season, has now taken his number of hat tricks to five in the English topflight.

The South Korean drew his side level in the first half and then went on to score two more goals in the second half to register his fourth-ever Premier League hat trick.

Pickford scores bizarre own goal

Sports Brief earlier reported that Jordan Pickford was the subject of great ridicule on social media after conceding one of the most bizarre own goals.

Everton came up against Sheffield United in an early Premier League kick-off on Saturday, August 2, with both sides looking for their first Premier League win of the season.

Gustavo Hamer hit a superb curler, which beat Pickford, but could not beat the post as the ball came off the hapless goalie and casually rolled into the net to give the Blades the lead.
