FootballNicolas Jackson Produces Miss of the Season As Nottingham Beat Chelsea, Video
- Nicolas Jackson missed a glaring opportunity to draw Chelsea level against Nottingham Forest
- Mauricio Pochettino's side succumbed to a second defeat in the first four games of the season
- Anthony Elanga's early second-half strike was the difference between the two sides
Nicolas Jackson produced one of the biggest misses of the season so far as Chelsea went down to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Anthony Elanga came off the bench to secure Forest's only second away win in the Premier League since they were promoted back to the Premier League last season.
It was a tactical masterclass from Steven Cooper's men, who contained the moneybags of Chelsea to just two shots on target the entire afternoon.
The Blues, as expected, dominated possession but found it hard to breach the low block from the visitors. Elanga scored within three minutes of restart in what was his first goal for his new club since he joined from Manchester United.
Nicolas Jackson's miss against Nottingham
With Chelsea desperately looking for an equaliser, Mauricio Pochettino sent on new signing Cole Palmer alongside Noni Madueke before throwing on Mykhailo Mudryk and Ian Maatsen minutes later.
Their best chance of the game fell to Jackson. Sterling, who has been in form in recent games, dodged a couple of challenges before making a way for the byline. The England international then made a cutback, which was deflected slightly and fell kindly to Jackson.
However, with an almost empty net in front of him, Jackson lunged himself on the ball, sending it over, much to the disbelief of the Chelsea faithful in the stadium.
It is now back to the drawing board for Pochettino, who now sits in 11th place after four games. The West London side face Bournemouth away after the international break.

FootballSports Brief has reported that Fulham fans decried “corruption” in the league as Manchester referee Michael Oliver allowed the goal to stand despite a Manchester City player appearing to be offside.
The Citizens had initially taken the lead through Julian Alvarez in the 31st minute, but Fulham found an equalizer two minutes later courtesy of Tim Ream’s effort from close range.
