Liverpool have been drawn against LASK, Union Saint-Gilloise and Toulouse in Group E of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League group stages, and an exciting family reunion awaits.

The Reds found themselves in the second tier of European competitions despite a late reply to salvage a poor season in the Premier League last year, narrowly missing out on the UCL.

Liverpool have previously played in the final of the Europa League in Jurgen Klopp's first season at Anfield, losing to record holders Sevilla in the final in Switzerland.

Klopp has also led the club to three UEFA Champions League finals, losing two to Real Madrid in 2018 and 2022 and beating English rivals Tottenham in the 2019 final.

Mac Allister set for family reunion

As noted by Football on TNT, Liverpool's new signing, Alexis Mac Allister, will face his brother, Kevin, who plays for Union Saint-Gilloise in the group stages after both teams were drawn together.

The brothers knew there was a possibility of meeting in the competition and had been tagging each other on Instagram. Kevin tagged Alexis in an Instagram reel, saying, "See you tomorrow."

According to The Athletic, Liverpool activated the release clause in the Argentine's contract worth £35m to bring him to Anfield as part of their midfield rebuild.

He was sent off in their 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth, but the red card was rescinded on appeal. His former club, Brighton, also qualified for the Europa League and are in the same group as Olympique Marseille, AFC Ajax and AEK Athens.

Kane sends message to Man Utd

Sports Brief reported that Harry Kane sent a message to Manchester United after his new team, Bayern Munich, were drawn into the same group as the Red Devils.

Kane finally left Tottenham this summer but would return to England when the German champions play United, who had the chance to sign him passed on, in the group stage.
