FootballSir Alex Ferguson 'attacks' Solskjaer as He Breaks Silence After Man United's Draw vs Everton
- Alex Ferguson appeared to criticise Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for relegating Cristiano Ronaldo to the bench against Everton
- The five-time Ballon d’Or winner came on as a substitute in their 1-1 draw at home to the Toffees in the Premier League
- According to a clip sighted on social media, Ferguson, who was spotted with UFC star Khabib said a manager should always start with his best players
Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has aimed a dig at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for relegating Cristiano Ronaldo to the bench against Everton, GOAL reports.
Ronaldo came on as a substitute in the 57th minute when United were 1-0 ahead, but the Toffees equalised courtesy of Andros Townsend as the match ended 1-1.
And Ferguson seemed to take issue with Solskjaer's team set up as he delved into the Norwegian's decision to limit Ronaldo to the bench.
In a behind the scenes footage that has since surfaced online, Ferguson, while having a chat with mixed martial arts superstar Khabib Nurmagomedov was heard saying it is important for one to start a match with his best players.
Ferguson, who remains United’s most successful manager, commented that "you should always start with your best players" in reference to Ronaldo's diminished role during the encounter.
The video begins midway through the conversation, with Ferguson saying:
"I also think that when they saw Ronaldo wasn't playing..."
Nurmagomedov reminds him that Ronaldo entered in the second half before Ferguson interjects, replying via Independent ie:
"I know, but you should always start with your best players."
The frustrating draw saw Man United slip to fourth on the Premier League standings with 14 points, two off top-placed Chelsea.
Man City backed to win EPL
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported Rio Ferdinand has backed Man City to retain the Premier League title this season in a fresh prediction.
The Man United icon had initially tipped Chelsea as clear favourites to lift the domestic English title but has since changed tune.
Rio's change of mind came after City staging a dramatic comeback twice to hold Liverpool at Anfield over the weekend.
