Real Madrid midfielder, Federico Valverde, is undoubtedly relishing his rejuvenated form after the slump he suffered towards the tail end of last season.
Valverde has once more been reinstated into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup and has played a crucial role in the team’s current winning streak.
The Uruguayan midfielder recently sat with media outlet, The Residency, in an awkward interview where he had to answer a few questions honestly or face the option of eating raw octopus.
Valverde reveals his Barcelona favourite
In the interview, the 25-year-old was faced with a series of questions. However, one that stood out was about his club's famed El Clasico rivals, Barcelona.
Valverde was asked his opinion on the best and worst players for the Catalan giants.
The Real Madrid star named his national teammate, Ronald Araujo as Barca's best player and decided answering the ther question was probably not worth the backlash he would receive.
Instead, Valverde opted to eat the raw octopus - likely anticipating that naming the worst Barcelona star would undoubtedly create a media storm.
His answer about Araujo comes as little surprise, given the close friendship he shares with the defender.
Valverde will now turn his focus towards Real Madrid’s inaugural home game of the new season. As per a report by Football Espana, he is expected to be in the starting line-up.
