The European transfer window is fast drawing to a close, and clubs are in a race against time to secure the signature of players they have long courted.
Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly thin in midfield and have their sights set on Bayern Munich’s youngster Ryan Gravenberch, who is believed to be pushing for a way out of the Bavarian club due to his limited game time.
According to recent reports from Germany, both clubs appear to have been handed the needed boost ahead of making a potential bid for the midfielder.
United, Liverpool get Gravenberch boost
According to reports from Sport1, the former Ajax man has asked to leave Bayern Munich this week following interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
The 21-year-old who joined Bayern last summer in an ₤18.5 million deal from Ajax, has been unable to secure a regular role in Thomas Tuchel’s side.
United and Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield options before Friday’s transfer deadline and have talked with Gravenberch’s representatives.
Gravenberch on leaving Bayern
Gravenberch in June, made clear his stance that he would fancy a move away from Bayern if he did not receive more playing opportunities.
Speaking to ESPN, the midfielder said:
‘I expected to play more minutes than I did. I thought I would get some more chances,’
‘It’s about just wanting to play, that’s the most important thing at my age.
‘I hope this can happen at Bayern Munich, otherwise we’ll just have to look further.

Bayern almost missed signing Kane
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Bayern Munich’s Honourary President Uli Hoeness recently opened up on the signing of Harry Kane and how the Bundesliga giants almost missed out on signing the striker.
Hoeness revealed that Kane had second thoughts about joining Bayern after the deal with the Bundesliga champions was delayed, despite a verbal agreement already being in place.
Kane signed for Bayern this summer and has since registered three goals in his first two Bundesliga appearances for the German league champions.
