- Al-Nassr secured back-to-back wins in the Saudi League with a 4-0 win against Al Shabab
- Superstar duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane were both on target
- The comprehensive win takes Al-Nassr to sixth position after four games
Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane maintained their exceptional goal-scoring form as Al-Nassr secured consecutive victories in the Saudi Pro League, cruising past Al-Shabab.
Ronaldo notched a brace from the penalty spot, while Mane and Sultan Al Ghannam each contributed a goal, leading the Knights of Najd to a resounding 4-0 triumph at the Al-Awwal Park on Tuesday evening.
Fresh from their inaugural win of the season, Luis Castro's squad initiated the game with high intensity and reaped the rewards when the talismanic Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 13th minute.
He then found the back of the net again, brilliantly connecting with a Marcelo Brozovic header just five minutes after the opening goal.
Regrettably, the 38-year-old's jubilation was cut short by a contentious VAR decision that annulled his goal. However, this setback didn't deter him from notching his second of the match, mirroring his first goal from the spot.
Shortly thereafter, CR7 played a vital role in his team's third, providing Mane with an assist as the ex-Liverpool star notched his fourth goal of the season five minutes before halftime.
In the 63rd minute, Ronaldo had the opportunity to secure his second consecutive hat-trick but selflessly passed the chance to Abdulrahman Ghareeb, who was unfortunate from the spot.
Nevertheless, Al Ghannam provided the finishing touch to seal the victory for last season's runners-up as they continued their ascent in the league standings with successive wins, Sporting News reports.
Up next for Al-Nassr is an away fixture against 16th-placed Al-Hazem, who have yet to secure a win in their opening four matches, according to Sofascore.
