Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Arabian side, Al-Nassr, are seen as 'way ahead' of Major League Soccer outfit, Inter Miami, according to the latest World Club Rankings.

Lionel Messi, the 2022 World Cup winner, moved to the Florida franchise during the summer transfer window and has already led them to the Leagues Cup title.

The Argentine continues to share the biggest stage in world football with his Portuguese arch-rival, Ronaldo.

The pair have a staggering 12 Ballon d’Or awards between them, with the former Barcelona captain scooping seven already and being tipped to win a record-extending eighth this year.

Despite starting the new Saudi Pro League season on the back foot, Al-Nassr are ranked ahead of Inter Miami.

The latest World Club Rankings

The Knights of Najd are the 163rd-best club, moving up 21 places, while Messi’s Inter Miami dropped 157 places to occupy the 1,538th position, as per Football Database.

Reigning European champions, Manchester City, are the number one club in the world, while Bayern Munich and Real Madrid occupy the second and third positions respectively.

Serie A kings, Napoli, moved up eight spots to occupy the fourth position, while fellow Italian giants, Inter Milan, are fifth.

Liverpool, Arsenal, FC Porto, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid are other teams completing the top ten in that order. Manchester United are 17th, while Chelsea are in the 74th position.

Comparing Saudi Pro League to MLS

Sports Brief also reported that since Ronaldo moved to the Middle East in December 2022, the Gulf nation has continued to disrupt the global football transfer market.

With the rise to prominence of the Saudi Pro League, many have compared the SPL to MLS as the eternal debate between Messi and his Portuguese rival keeps raging.

With the Argentine's brilliance continuing to captivate audiences in the US and abroad, the exodus of Europe's elite to the Middle East has also seen the Saudi league rise.
