A supercomputer has predicted the final Premier League table after three rounds of fixtures.

The new season has kicked off in earnest, with all the 20 participating teams keen to leave a mark.

However, it is Manchester City who have managed to maintain a perfect start to the campaign.

The reigning champions are yet to drop points in three of their fixtures, with the last outing a 2-1 hard-fought win over Sheffield United.

Their impressive start to the season has them topping the standings with nine points, two points ahead of second-placed West Ham United.

According to The Sun, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool were the other teams who secured thrilling wins in their most recent outings.

Supercomputer predicts final EPL table

While there is still a long way to go before the season ends, a supercomputer has still made a prediction of how the final Premier League table could look in May.

Bettingexpert's supercomputer, BETSiE, has backed City to retain the title and make it a record-breaking four on the bounce.

According to the prediction, Arsenal will have to contend with a second-place finish for the second season running.

Liverpool are projected to finish third, with Manchester United completing a top-four podium.

Despite Chelsea's heavy investment and change of manager, the west Londoners have been backed to settle for a sixth-place finish behind Newcastle United.

Elsewhere, Everton look set to get relegated, going by the prediction, alongside Luton Town and Sheffield United.

Nottingham appeal Man United refereeing

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nottingham Forest have lodged a written complaint to the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), the body in charge of refereeing in the Premier League, after a controversial loss to Manchester United over the weekend.

Several refereeing decisions went against Forest’s way last Saturday, causing them to lose 3-2 at Old Trafford.

It was a gut-wrenching defeat for Forest, who scored two quick goals in the first four minutes to build a 2-0 lead.
