- Manchester United are shopping for another left-back after injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia
- United are understood to be tracking Chelsea outcast Marc Cucurella to fill the position temporarily
- Cucurella has endured a frustrating spell with the Blues since he joined them from Brighton in 2022
Manchester United are reportedly close to sealing the signing of Chelsea defender, Marc Cucurella.
United were forced to make changes to their transfer plans after both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia suffered injuries.
According to Metro UK, Shaw is understood to be battling a muscle injury picked up during a training session and could be out for up to two months.
In the absence of the duo, Erik ten Hag was forced to draft Diogo Dalot in at left-back against Nottingham Forest during their recent Premier League outing.
United close to signing Cucurella
Chelsea outcast Cucurella is understood to be on United's radar as a temporary replacement for Shaw and Malacia.
Marca now claims that the Red Devils are close to sealing the transfer ahead of transfer deadline day.
It is understood that the Blues could demand an upfront fee for the Spaniard to complete his loan move to Old Trafford.
Cucurella's imminent transfer comes barely a season after he joined Chelsea from Brighton.
However, the Spain international has struggled to hit the ground running since making the transfer worth £62m in 2022.
A move to Old Trafford would see him become the second Chelsea star to join United this summer after Mason Mount, who swapped the Blues for the Manchester club.
