- James Maddison shared a video of him brilliantly antagonising Bournemouth fans over the weekend
- The midfielder has been a revelation to Tottenham Hotspur in his first few games for the club
- He got his first goal against the Cherries as Spurs remained unbeaten at the start of the campaign
There is no denying that James Maddison has already settled into his new Tottenham Hotspur side. Signed for a fee of around 40 million euros from Leicester City, he is proving to be the bargain of the transfer window so far.
The England international has one goal and two assists in his first three games for the North London club. His goal involvements have helped the new head honcho, Ange Postecoglou, make a positive start to life in the Premier League with seven points out of 9 - including the important win over Manchester United.
On Saturday, August 26, Maddison was the tormentor-in-chief in the South Coast when Spurs visited Bournemouth for the early kick-off. Starting on the left-hand side of Postecoglou's midfield three, he kept popping up in dangerous positions before his efforts finally paid off in the 17th minute when he liked Pape Sarr's cross beyond Neto.
He was a constant menace for Andoni Iraiola's men before he was hooked off in the 73rd minute. His other standout moment in the game was when he silenced Bournemouth fans who were mocking him.
James Maddison silences Bournemouth fans
As he walked over to take a corner in the first half, the fans let him know why Three Lions' Head Coach Gareth Southgate omits him from national duties, albeit with vulgar terms.
"Southgate’s right, you’re (expletive)."
The 26-year-old, who has been around long enough to know it was banter, took it in well. He then proceeded to antagonise them further by putting the ball slightly ahead of where he was supposed to take the corner from.

FootballThe fans protested his antics, with the former Leicester City man responding with a smile in their direction. The gesture quietened the fans down as they stopped singing the mockery song in a video shared by Maddison on his TikTok account.
Maddison 1, Bournemouth fans 1. Game on.
He will be hoping he can continue with his form in the subsequent games. Spurs play Fulham this weekend before the international break.
Fulham mocks Mikel Arteta's reaction
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Arsenal conceded an early goal in their 2-2 draw against Fulham in the London derby, and head coach Mikel Arteta's reaction to the manner in which the goal was conceded left fans in stitches.
The Gunners came into the game having picked up maximum points in their opening games against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, though narrowly.
