Paris Saint-Germain summer signing Lucas Hernandez has incurred the wrath of Barcelona supporters worldwide following his downgrading comments about the Catalan club.
The 27-year-old French defender, who came through the Atletico Madrid youth academy, expressed his disgust for Barcelona while in conversation with Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.
According to MARCA, Hernandez is allegedly heard insulting Barcelona during a PSG training session, insinuating that Barcelona is a crappy team in a clip that was shared online by an official PSG channel.
The player’s comment has generated great unease in Barcelona among fans and officials, although the Catalans have yet to respond to Hernandez’s comments.
Hernandez joined PSG this summer from Bayern Munich for €50m after battling with injuries during his four-year stint with the Bundesliga giants.
Hernandez reveals decision to join PSG
Meanwhile, Lucas Hernandes has revealed he joined Paris Saint-Germain this summer from Bayern Munich because he wanted to return home where he understood the language, SB Nation reports.
The 27-year-old confessed he had struggled in Germany due to the difficult nature of the language despite spending four years with Bayern Munich following his switch to the Bavarians in 2019.
Hernandez also added that he was convinced by the project and package that PSG presented him with, though he made the decision before they even appointed a new manager, Luis Enrique.
PSG make Hernandez fifth signing
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Paris Saint-Germain signed Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez on Sunday, the club's fifth signing this week.
The French 2018 World Cup winner joins Manuel Ugarte, Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio and Lee Kang-in as Parc des Princes newcomers since Luis Enrique's appointment as coach on Wednesday.
