  • Erling Haaland scored a brilliant header off a Jack Grealish cross
  • The Norwegian missed a penalty that could have given Manchester City the lead
  • A fan who invaded the pitch was first to celebrate with the City striker

A Manchester City fan could not hide his excitement after jumping the barriers to celebrate with Erling Haaland when the striker put Manchester City ahead against Sheffield United.

Haaland threw away the chance to put Manchester City ahead in the first half after his penalty hit the post and moved away fast enough for a rebound not to happen.

City, without captain Kevin De Bruyne, who had surgery on his injured hamstring, turned to £100m star Jack Grealish as a provider for their striker to score.

The English attacker's cross was headed in by the Norwegian striker to atone for his penalty miss in the first half, even though his FPL selectors remain angry at him.

Haaland celebrates with pitch invader

Haaland had his back to the crowd after he scored, and before he could turn, a fan jumped on his back from the crowd to celebrate with him, as spotted by BR Football.

The former Borussia Dortmund star turned to the fan and hugged him while he continued his celebration with his teammates, who had also flocked around him.

The game had a bit of a twist in the end after Sheffield equalised in the 85th minute. The English champions reclaimed the lead through Rodri, who blasted into the net off an inadvertent assist from Phil Foden.

Guardiola would have expected a better outcome without the need to wrack nerves from his team after dominating the game and having 30 shots, nine of which were on target.

Guardiola's angry moment with fan

Sports Brief reported on Pep Guardiola's angry moment with a fan during City's 1-0 win over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium last week.

The City boss was picked up by the camera voicing at a fan angrily in the latter stages of the game. He explained the incident later at his press conference that the fan asked him to make a substitution, and he replied he should come and sit in the manager's position and do it.
