FootballPSG Fans Mock Neymar Weeks After His Departure to Al Hilal
- Neymar's era at Parsi Saint-Germain ended surprisingly this summer
- The Brazilian joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and is now one of the highest-paid players in the world
- PSG ultras sent him a message this weekend before their Ligue 1 game against Lens
Brazil superstar Neymar completed a surprise move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal earlier this month from Paris Saint-Germain.
Before their 3-1 win over Lens in Ligue 1 on Saturday, PSG fans had a message to Neymar, who spent six seasons in the French capital. Lionel Messi also left the French giants this summer.
PSG ultras gathered outside Neymar's house in May to demand his exit from the club. Those actions reportedly prompted Neymar to leave the club, which spent a world record €222 million to acquire his services.
The relationship between Neymar and the ultras seemed irreparable after that incident. Despite the hefty fee, the Brazilian failed to live up to the price tag.
Injuries and off-pitch distractions saw him miss over 100 games. The highly coveted Champions League never arrived during his time there.
PSG ukltras call out Neymar
The 31-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Riyadh-based club, joining a long list of players from European clubs who have moved to Saudi Arabia.
Before the game against Lens, fans unveiled a banner insulting Neymar.
It read: “Neymar: finally rid of the rude,” via Centre Goals.
In Six seasons with PSG, he played 173 games, scored 118 goals and provided 77 assists, per Transfermarkt. He won five Ligue 1 trophies.
Neymar's story one of unfulfilled dreams
Meanwhile, Sports Brief also reported on Neymar's journey to football fame and how the world never truly experienced the Brazilian at his optimum.
At 31 years old, the former Barcelona star is exiting European football having won only one UEFA Champions League title and no Ballon d'Or award to his name.
Thanks to wrong decisions, injuries, and even sabotage, football only caught glimpses of a player who should have stood alongside Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
