FootballAmaZulu FC Close In on Unwanted Away Game Achievement in DStv Premiership
- AmaZulu FC have only picked up one win away from home in the last year
- The Usuthu are yet to score a goal in the league this season after four games
- Pablo Franco is hoping to make history with AmaZulu during his time in charge
Things are not going well for AmaZulu FC at the moment.
The KwaZulu-Natal side are yet to pick up a win in the league this season, but that’s become something of a norm of late for the side.
As noted by OptaJabu, AmaZulu have only won one away game in the league in the last year. Their winless run started with a 0-0 draw against Kaizer Chiefs in September 2022 and has continued since.
During that time, they played 15 games away from home, won one game, drew eight and lost six.
Their last away fixture came at the FNB Stadium, where they were beaten by Kaizer Chiefs.
Pule Mmodi scored a brace and Edson Castillo grabbed a late goal as Chiefs picked up their first win of the season, Goal reported.
AmaZulu’s next away game is only on September 15, when they travel to face Polokwane City. That would mean they have gone a whole year while only picking up one victory.
With Pablo Franco in charge of the side this season, many were hoping for a change in fortune. The Usuthu have drawn three games this season but have yet to score a single goal.
They currently sit on three points after four games and are in 13th place on the league table.

Zungu explained that AmaZulu would celebrate its centenary in 2032 and he wanted to leave a legacy by the time it reached the 100-year milestone, Sports Brief earlier reported.
