Three talking points from the Premier League's opening weekend
Football"He Knew,": Fulham Mock Arteta’s Funny Reaction to Saka’s Blunder for Opening Goal Against Arsenal
- Arsenal and Fulham settled for a 2-2 draw in the London derby at the Emirates Stadium
- Bukayo Saka's misplaced pass gifted Fulham the opening goal through Andreas Pereira
- Mikel Arteta's reaction after the blunder summed up the funny nature of the goal
Arsenal conceded an early goal in their 2-2 draw against Fulham in the London derby, and head coach Mikel Arteta's reaction to the manner in which the goal was conceded left fans in stitches.
The Gunners came into the game having picked up maximum points in their opening games against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, though narrowly.
As noted by talkSPORT, Bukayo Saka broke Paul Merson's record of 82 consecutive games for Arsenal but started it in a way he would not have wanted after playing former Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira through on goal for the opener.
He atoned for it by scoring from the penalty spot after Tete fouled Fabio Vieira, and Eddie Nketiah scored the second off the bench before João Palhinha made it 2-2.
Fulham mocks Arteta's reaction
Saka thought he was passing back into his half for a teammate and unknowingly set up Pereira, who beat goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with a shot to his back.
Fulham Twitter captured Arteta's reaction in four pictures from the moment the pass was through on goal and gave it a caption that suggests taking a jibe at their opponent's manager.
The Gunners may have picked up seven points from their opening two games, but they have not been as convincing in their gameplay as last season.
The Spanish boss tinkered with the team's system to accommodate new signing Kai Havertz and made a few personnel changes to the team, the effects of which are showing on the pitch.

FootballArteta hints system change
Sports Brief reported that Arteta hinted at a system change this season to keep opponents guessing and make the team unpredictable as they bid to challenge for the title again.
The former Manchester City assistant boss claimed this would be made possible by the additions of versatile players Havertz and Declan Rice to the team this summer.
So far, this hasn't worked, as both players have yet to settle into the team properly.
