Barcelona to Join Growing List of Clubs to Sign Romelu Lukaku, Reports

Romelu Lukaku’s immediate future remains uncertain following the failure of a move to Serie A giant Juventus failing to materialise.

The 30-year-old forward, who has not been short of transfer suitors, has now been linked with a move to AS Roma and the Saudi Pro League, amongst a host of options.

Despite reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stating the Belgian forward is closer to a Serie A return with Jose Mourinho’s Roma, Football Espana reports La Liga giant Barcelona to be joining the growing list of clubs considering a loan move for Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku is yet to feature for the Blues this season following his return from a loan long loan at Inter Milan. Chelsea’s head coach, Mauricio Pochettino has repeatedly admitted that the future of the forward remains unresolved.

The Belgian international looked sure to move on from Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2023/24 season, but exit talks have stalled so far.

Lukaku has previously hinted at being open to a move to Barcelona following reports from Sky Italy claiming the Catalan giants are monitoring the situation as the transfer window enters its final days.

Barcelona who are currently thin in attack after the following the departure of Ousmane Dembele to Paris Saint Germain, could be looking to close a deal for the Belgian.

Lukaku’s potential addition to La Blaugrana is expected to provide an alternative to the Spanish club's current array of talents.

Lukaku deal angers Juventus

In related coverage, Sports Brief reported that Juventus have been left red-faced after Chelsea reportedly made the Bianconeri’s interest in Lukaku public.

Juve were in 'silent talks' with Chelsea for the former Everton man and were willing to offer striker Dusan Vlahovic, at a discount if the Blues let the Belgian go.

However, in an apparent attempt to drive up Lukaku's price, the Blues allegedly took advantage and made Inter Milan aware of the interest in the big striker.
