FootballVideo: Ancelotti’s Angry Reaction After Rodrygo Wasting Penalty Goes Viral
- Carlo Ancelotti looked enraged after Rodrygo Goes missed a penalty against Celta Vigo
- Ancelotti was expecting Luka Modric to take the kick, instead of the Brazilian
- Real Madrid sealed the win late in the game thanks to Jude Bellingham
Real Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti, appeared visibly furious as Rodrygo Goes failed to convert a pivotal penalty during their Friday night La Liga showdown against Celta Vigo.
Rodrygo took on the responsibility from the penalty spot, but the Celta Vigo goalkeeper, Iván Villar, guessed his shot correctly.
This triggered annoyance within the coaching staff, as the penalty should have been taken by Luca Modric.
The frustration was so intense that Ancelotti elevated from the bench and threw a bottle to the ground, displaying his irritation at the missed opportunity.
This moment quickly went viral on social media.
Fortunately for Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham managed to score the winning goal towards the end, maintaining their leadership in the standings.
However, this didn't prevent a post-match challenge from Ancelotti during the press conference.
The Italian gaffer said via Diairio AS:
“They are not free to choose the shooter. I don’t know what happened, Luka was supposed to take It and I don’t know what happened. The one who was supposed to take it was Vini but he wasn’t there. They chose Rodrygo, and I didn’t have time to say that it should have been Modrić”.
Bellingham saves Madrid blushes
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham was the hero again for Real Madrid as they earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo to maintain top-spot in La Liga after three matches this season.
The 20-year-old Englishman headed in Joselu's flick-on in the 81st minute to register his fourth league goal in just his third appearance to help Los Blancos maintain their winning streak in La Liga.
Mbappe returns for PSG as substitute against Toulouse
FootballBellingham, who joined Real Madrid this summer from Borussia Dortmund for €103mil, has now scored in every league game he has featured in this season.
The England midfielder has continued to endear himself to the Madridistas, justifying Carlo Ancelotti's stance when the Italian made clear he expected the 20-year-old to contribute to replacing Karim Benzema, MARCA reports.
Rafa Benitez hails Jude Bellingham
Earlier, Sports Brief reported ex-Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez has said his former club paid a huge amount to sign Jude Bellingham because the young Englishman was good.
Benitez's Celta Vigo face Madrid on Friday night. It will be the first time he faces his former club after he was fired in 2016 by Florentino Perez. His connection to Los Blancos runs much deeper than those six forgettable months.
Bellingham has made a phenomenal start to his La Liga season. In just two matches, he has scored three goals.
