Senegalese forward, Nicolas Jackson has matched a similar record by the legendary Chelsea forward Didier Drogba with his first Premier League goal.
Jackson, who joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window from Villareal, was on target as the Blues defeated newcomers Luton Town.
His first goal in the English Premier League arrives exactly 19 years and one day, when Drogba netted his first in the league for the London club.
Interestingly, it was also against a newly promoted side and in his third Premier League. The Chelsea legend rose high to head home for the opener against Crystal Palace on August 24, 2004, as reported by ESPN.
The Ivorian forward went on to score 163 goals, winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and the UEFA Champions League.
Jackson is hoping to follow in the footsteps of the former Chelsea star after getting his maiden goal against Luton Town.
Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling was in inspired form, scoring twice to add to Jackson's goal as Chelsea secured their first win of the new season, as reported by The Guardian.
Chelsea will next face Nottingham Forest before the international break.
