FootballKlopp Dispels Claims Salah Could Leave Liverpool for Al Ittihad
- Al-Ittihad are reportedly ready to make a move for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah
- The Saudis are keen to offer him a salary that would make him the league's highest-paid
- Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has spoken on the rumours about the Reds' Egyptian star
Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, is adamant there is no way Mohamed Salah will leave the club this summer, with Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia reportedly plotting a massive swoop.
Saudi Pro League clubs have had a heavy presence in the transfer window this summer since they first made the big move for Cristiano Ronaldo after his Manchester United contract was terminated in January.
Top European stars have moved to the league since, including Salah's former teammates: Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho along with other ageing Premier League stars.
According to The Athletic, Saudi top flight champions, Al-Ittihad, are interested in signing the Egyptian winger to bolster an already star-studded squad which has Karim Benzema, N'golo Kante, and Fabinho.
Klopp dispels Salah's exit rumours
The Reds have been rocked by exits of some top stars this summer but none in the magnitude of Salah. The club also can't afford to let him go at any cost, with only six days left in the window to replace him.
Despite reports of interest in his ace, Klopp confirmed the Reds are yet to receive an offer and if they do, the answer would be an emphatic 'no'.
The German manager made this known during his press conference ahead of Liverpool's trip to Newcastle, as quoted by Football Daily:
"Nothing to talk about from my point of view - Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. He is an essential player, was, and will be. There is nothing there. If there was, the answer would be no," he said.
The 30-year-old signed a new contract last summer worth £350,000 per week. Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, debunked claims 15 days earlier that his client would leave the club.

Football"If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC," he wrote on social media.
Benzema's future at Al-Ittihad uncertain
Sports Brief also reported that Karim Benzema's Al-Ittihad future is uncertain just a few weeks into his time at the club, reportedly due to a spat with coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.
The possibility of the veteran's departure, even though the club has attempted to debunk this, facilitated interest in Salah, who is contracted to Liverpool for another three years.
