Amid reports of tension between Benzema and coach Nuno Espirito Santo, the club swiftly dispelled the swirling rumours through a social media video earlier in the week.
Fast forward to their third game of the season on Thursday, where the Frenchman and his manager seemed to be on the same page.
The 35-year-old broke the game's deadlock by scoring his first goal in the Saudi top flight. This goal served as the catalyst for Al-Ittihad, who added two more goals courtesy of the prolific Moroccan striker, Hamdallah.
Notably, one of the Atlas Lions star's goals came from the penalty spot, a kick that was initially supposed to be taken by Benzema.
