Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has reportedly become the latest target for big-spending Saudi teams, with Al-Ittihad looking to open talks with the Egyptian forward.
Al Ittihad does not want to be caught napping with the future of Karim Benzema uncertain after Nuno Espirito Santo revealed the French forward was not part of his plans and wants him gone.
Reports claim Benzema wants to leave Al Ittihad, a club he joined in June as a free agent from Real Madrid, as he is not happy at the Saudi Pro League club, especially with Nuno Espirito Santo.
According to GOAL, Salah is reportedly intrigued by what Al-Ittihad have to say, with further discussions being invited after the Saudi club returned with a second bid for the forward.
Liverpool first rejected a bid from Al-Ittihad, but are gradually softening their attitude as more money is put on the table, and the same is thought to be true for Salah, who had planned to finish the 2023/24 season on Merseyside.
Salah makes Liverpool transfer stance
Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has taken to Twitter to deny that the Egyptian forward had any desire to leave Liverpool after Al Ittihad submitted a record bid, Sport Bible reports.
Abbas revealed the Egyptian forward remained committed to the Anfield club; otherwise, he would not have renewed his contract with the Reds, which was due to expire at the end of last season.
Salah, who was described as an 'exceptional' player by Klopp, still has two years remaining on his contract at Liverpool.

FootballAl Ittihad board to sack Benzema
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Nuno Espirito Santo has communicated to the Al-Ittihad board that the tactical approach he employs does not align well with the playing characteristics of Karim Benzema.
Benzema has made two appearances for Al-Ittihad this season, and although he hasn't found the net himself, he did contribute an assist during a 3-0 triumph against Al-Raed.
Benzema had expressed a desire for the captaincy at Al-Ittihad, which the Portuguese coach has declined to give him, and with the current unease in his present setting, some believe the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner could find himself facing the possibility of an unexpected move away.
