According to Sportbible, the West Londoners have shortlisted Folarin among their transfer options and have stepped up efforts to land the young forward.

However, they will have to contend with competition from London rivals Fulham and French side Monaco, who are understood to be keeping tabs on him too.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are believed to be prepared to lower their asking price of above £40m in order to ship out the United States international.

Could Balogun join Chelsea?

The Mirror reports that the 22-year-old would have no misgivings about joining a London rival.

Chelsea and Arsenal have already done business this summer, with Kai Havertz swapping the Blues for the north Londoners.

Meanwhile, Balogun's imminent Emirates exit comes at a time when he enjoyed a successful loan spell with Reims last season.

The youngster scored an eyewatering 21 league goals in 37 matches in France last term to reannounce himself to the world.

He was a part of the Arsenal squad that participated in the pre-season campaign in the US but has yet to feature for the Gunners since the start of the new season.

Lukaku training with U21s

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Romelu Lukaku is reportedly training with Chelsea's U21s as he awaits to discover his Stamford Bridge future.

The Belgian striker is back at Chelsea after spending last season on loan with Inter Milan.

However, reports claim he is yet to have a word with new boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is believed not to have him in his plans.

Inter Milan were initially believed to be interested in signing Lukaku on a permanent basis but have since abandoned their bid.
