According to Daily Star, the Blues are currently finalising the departure of the former Manchester United striker.

The decision to let go of the Belgium international comes at a time when Chelsea are depleted in attack following the injury of Christopher Nkunku, who is currently out injured.

Which way for Lukaku?

Inter Milan were initially believed to be interested in signing Lukaku on a permanent basis but have since abandoned their bid.

Reports claim Inter made the decision after learning that the 30-year-old had been speaking to rivals Juventus behind their back.

However, Juve fans have equally expressed their displeasure at the club's approach for the 30-year-old and even protested the proposed transfer move.

A move to Saudi Arabia had also been mooted, with Goal reporting that Al-Hilal had offered him a deal worth £45 million.

However, the ex-Everton star rejected the move as he wanted to remain in Europe.

Arsenal ace ready to join Chelsea

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun is reportedly open to sealing a summer move to Chelsea.

The Blues are keen to strengthen their attack before the close of the summer transfer window after they lost Christopher Nkunku to a knee injury.

However, they will have to contend with competition from London rivals Fulham and French side Monaco, who are understood to be keeping tabs on the Balogun.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are believed to be prepared to lower their asking price of above £40m in order to ship out the United States international.
