Manchester United's woes continued on Wednesday after getting a 3-0 hammering from Burnley in a behind-closed-doors friendly clash.
The Red Devils have endured a difficult start to the new season, with Erik ten Hag's charges finding it difficult to settle in.
According to Metro UK, United have been somewhat unconvincing two games into the new campaign, having secured a scrappy 1-0 win over Wolves in their opener before losing away at Tottenham over the weekend.
The Old Trafford dwellers were somehow lucky to have carted home maximum points against Wolves, who missed loads of goalscoring chances.
At Tottenham, United were completely outwitted in every aspect of the game, with the north Londoners silencing them 2-0.
Burnley humbles Man United
On Wednesday, Ten Hag organised a friendly clash against Burnley, which was played behind closed doors.
The United boss is understood to have scheduled the match to offer him further perspective about his squad.
However, the Manchester club went on to suffer a humiliating defeat during the tie staged at the Carrington training base.
The Sun reports that Jonny Evans and five first-team squad players started the match.
Hannibal Mejbri, Scott McTominay, Facundo Pellistri, Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek are also understood to have featured.
Ten Hag will now be hoping his side will bounce back to winning ways when they play Nottingham Forest in their next fixture.
