- A Bayern Munich legend has blasted Neymar for his time in Ligue 1
Neymar Jr’s six-year spell at Paris Saint Germain was disappointing in many respects, with the Brazilian failing to truly justify the price the Parisians paid for his services.
Bayern Munich legend, Paul Breitner, agrees with that sentiment as he delivered a scathing review of the former Barcelona star's time in the French capital.
The former German international also thanked Saudi Arabian top flight side, Al-Hilal, for signing Neymar and claimed the forward brought nothing but division to PSG.
Breitner, who also featured for Real Madrid between 1974 and 1977, recently sat down with German media outlet, Bayrischer Rundfunkl, to discuss the Brazilian forward's time in France.
Breitner tears into Neymar
The 71-year-old did not mince his words in slamming the new Al-Hilal signee, as quoted and translated by Goal:
"Thank you, dear Saudis, for buying Mr Neymar, who has been one of the most sneaky footballers in recent years on this planet. One of the greatest footballers who only acts, who only dives. Lousy! A very sneaky character. I have to say: thank you very much, we don't need to stand him any more."
Neymar failed to deliver on his immense potential with his appearances for the Ligue 1 champions limited to just 173. Despite this, the 31-year-old still found the back of the net 118 times for the Parisians.
The Brazilian will now continue his football in the Middle East following his record move to the Saudi Pro League.
Neymar, who is currently nursing a knock and is only set to debut in September, will earn wages and perks in excess of ₤400 million, according to another report by Goal.
