FootballFans React As Cristiano Ronaldo Allegedly Protests Against Teammate’s Goal
- Al Nassr secured their place in the AFC Champions League with a win over Shabab Al-Ahli
- The Riyadh-based club came from behind to secure a dramatic victory over the UAE giants
- Fans spotted an odd reaction from Cristiano Ronaldo after his teammate scored an equaliser
Al-Nassr stormed into their first AFC Champions League in three years after a come-from-behind win against Dubai-based club, Shabab Al-Ahli.
The fixture, overshadowed by controversial refereeing, was eventually decided in the final 10 minutes courtesy of goals from Anderson Talisca, Sultan Al-Ghannam, and Marcelo Brozovic.
However, a moment from the game involving Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has gotten fans talking and reacting hilariously to the 38-year-old.
Fans react to Ronaldo’s 'protest'
In the heat of the action, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner raised his hands after his teammate, Talisca, had put his team ahead in the 92nd minute of the game.
The manner of Ronaldo's reaction has led some to believe he was marking his own teammate as being offside.
However, others believe he was instead signalling for a possible foul by the opposition, perhaps believing it could lead to a goal from the penalty spot.

Another user commented: “Nah, no way he is actually claiming offside after his teammate scored, lol.”
After the game ended, Al-Nassr manager, Luis Castro, praised the forward for his utter focus on 'everyday football', as quoted by Goal:
"It's hard to say something about him that the world doesn't know... He transmits a contagious energy to the game and to his teammates. The day-to-day training recovery is fantastic. He is a captain for what he does every second of his day. Food, rest, hours of sleep, it's total control of his body. On the field, he is that player. He can go to his own limits."
