FootballAngry Ronaldo Yells at Referee to ‘Wake Up’ As Al Nassr Qualifies for AFC Champions League
- Al-Nassr faced UAE's Shabab Al-Ahli Club in their AFC Champions League qualifier
- The Riyadh-based club were openly upset with the decisions of the centre referee
- Al-Nassr skipper Cristiano Ronaldo did not hold back his anger towards the referee
Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, did not hold back his displeasure toward the centre referee during his side’s 4-2 victory against Dubai-based club, Shabab Al-Ahli.
During a rollercoaster of a game, the Portuguese veteran was caught on camera shouting at China's Fu Ming as he walked down the tunnel following the half-time whistle.
Ronaldo's anger was stoked after the referee denied him a penalty in the 27th minute, despite the veteran claiming he had been fouled by a Shabab defender in the area.
The referee followed this call up with another moment of seeming indecision after ignoring what Al-Nassr players protested was a clear handball, following an overhead kick by their skipper.
The Chinese referee also denied Ronaldo a third penalty in the first half after the forward was brought down in the penalty area following an artful dribble through two defenders.

Arabic commentator, Ahmed Afifi, also spoke out about the referee's decisions, per a post on social media:
“I never talk about the refereeing, but Al-Nassr will make me break this rule. In every game, something against them happens.”
Al-Nassr eventually rallied to a late 4-2 win, following a brace from Anderson Talisca and a late goal from new signing, Marcelo Brozovic.
The Knights of Najd have now qualified for the AFC Champions League and will hope to continue their momentum in the Saudi Pro League.
