Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, exploded with fury during Tuesday's AFC Champions League game against Shabab Al-Ahli after the referee refused to award him three penalty kicks.

Ronaldo thought he should have had a first spot kick on 27 minutes after he was fouled in the penalty area.

In a video shared on social media, the Portuguese forward went to the ground, having clipped the knee of the Shabab Al-Ahli defender.

The referee was on the scene and immediately signalled 'no penalty'.

At the 45-minute mark, Ronaldo believed he had earned a penalty when his overhead kick seemed to make contact with his opponent's hand. However, the referee signalled to play on.

The decision left the ex-Manchester United star fuming as he looked to add to Talisca's earlier goal.

His mood was not helped as the game went on and two minutes later, he was denied a third penalty shout. The referee again signalled no spot kick after Ronaldo was tripped in the penalty box.

The decisions infuriated the veteran, as he angrily let rip at the half-time whistle, Mirror Sports reported. Ronaldo was spotted shouting at the officials while continuing to angrily jab and point his finger towards them.

Having lost their initial two matches in the new Saudi Pro League season, Al-Nassr find themselves facing Shabab Al-Ahli, the United Arab Emirates champions.

Despite this, the Knights of Najd are widely considered a contender to advance to the group stage, especially given the advantage of the single elimination game being hosted at its home ground in Riyadh.

Former coach compares Osimhen to Ronaldo

Sports Brief also reported on former Al-Nassr manager, Rudi Garcia, drawing similarities between Ronaldo and Victor Osimhen.

The Frenchman is currently coaching the Nigerian's Napoli after being shown the door by the Saudi Pro League club last season.

Garcia showered praise on his centre-forward while also noting the ethic he has in common with a star he previously managed.
