Arsenal summer recruit Declan Rice has given a hilarious response after he lost his British transfer record to Moises Caicedo.
Rice joined the Gunners in mid-July, with the north Londoners forking out an eyewatering £105million to land his services from West Ham United.
According to Sky Sports, the fee paid saw the ex-West Ham skipper become the most expensive signing this summer.
However, Rice did not hold the record for long, with Caicedo's sensational move to Chelsea from Brighton shattering that figure.
Caicedo moved to Stamford Bridge for a British record £115million fee a little over a week ago, with the Blues beating rivals Liverpool to the signing of the Ecuadorian.
Rice pokes fun at Caicedo transfer
Rice has now has poked fun at the fact he has already lost his title as the Premier League’s most expensive player of the summer.
The former West Ham star shared his reaction during Arsenal's EPL meeting with Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Metro UK reports that the Englishman burst into laughter when the conversation was brought up before he cheekily pointed out:
"I had it up on the wall for two weeks! It’s come down already!’
Rice was easily one of the standout performers as a 10-man Arsenal side silenced Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park.
Caicedo breaks silence after nightmare debut
Earlier, Sports Brief reported British record signing, Moises Caicedo, had a debut to forget for his new club, Chelsea, in their 3-1 London derby loss to West Ham at the Olympic Stadium.
The Ecuadorian midfielder chose to move to London despite Liverpool initially agreeing on a higher fee with Brighton and Hove Albion.
