FootballReal Madrid to Make Last Ditch Offer for Mbappe in Final Days of Window
- Real Madrid are said to be preparing a final attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe
- The French star has already started the season after being dropped initially
- Mbappe's current deal with the Ligue 1 champions is set to run out in 2024
Real Madrid will make a final attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer, just days after the forward was reintegrated into the Paris Saint-Germain first team.
PSG had initially refused to allow the 24-year-old forward to train with his teammates after he refused to sign a contract extension with the Parisians, which will make him leave for free next summer.
According to MARCA, Real Madrid plan to send a final proposal about signing Mbappe to PSG between August 29 and September 1, just at the end of the transfer window.
The latest offer from the Spanish giants is expected to be €120million, which is short of the Parisians' evaluation of the 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner, set at €150mil.
Real Madrid urgently need a goal-scorer, with the deal for Mbappe already receiving backing from the club’s hierarchy and a formal bid expected to be tabled soon.
Kylian Mbappe’s future still uncertain
Meanwhile, PSG does not want to lose Mbappe for free, with Frenchman yet to renew his deal while entering the final months of his contract with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
According to SB Nation, the 24-year-old forward has rejected three renewal offers, the last of which is a five-year contract, as speculation surrounds his future with the Paris club.
Despite having somewhat patched things up with Mbappe by bringing him back into the team, PSG still has no assurance he will renew and could join Real Madrid for free next summer.
PSG chief issues Mbappe threat
Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on PSG conveying their expectation for Mbappe to extend his contract or face the likelihood of being sold off this summer.
