FootballKylian Mbappe: Real Madrid Await Final Greenlight Before Launching Bid for the PSG Star
- Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move to Real Madrid
- The PSG star is currently in the final year of his contract
- Neither Real Madrid nor PSG have held a conversation about the forward so far
The speculation surrounding the immediate future of Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe seems to have rekindled after reports of Real Madrid making a bid for the forward resurfaced.
The saga surrounding the 24-year-old appeared to have grown cold after he was reinstated into PSG’s first team shortly after the start of the Ligue 1 season.
However, recent reports from Madrid Zone have stated that the deal could still be on. The Spanish giants are reportedly awaiting for a call from the player’s mother, Fayza Lamari, who doubles as his agent, before launching a bid for the forward.
The report further states that Los Blancos have been waiting all summer for the greenlight from Mbappe’s mother, and there is a very real chance that the call could come in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
New twist to Mbappe saga?
Madrid Universal quoted Mbappe to have said: “I am staying here, I am staying here,” while celebrating his goal against Toulouse in a 1-1 draw on Saturday – a statement that potentially puts an end to the transfer chronicle.
Nonetheless, it all still seems far from finished, given that the agreement between the player and PSG before his reinstatement into the first team did not include the Frech captain signing a new contract.
Tribuna reports that the striker remains bent on his decision not to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2024. On top of that, it reports that Mbappe has decided to give up his 80 million loyalty bonus, which triggered the club’s action to reinstate him into the first team.
