Georginio Wijnaldum and Paris Saint-Germain are in a stand-off as the French club reportedly refuses to allow the Dutch midfielder to terminate his contract.
The Netherlands international’s time at PSG has been nothing short of a nightmare after falling down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 club and eventually being shipped out on loan to AS Roma.
According to Get Football, Wijnaldum has offered to terminate his contract with PSG after being informed he is not part of the club’s plans under new manager, Luis Enrique.
However, the Ligue 1 giants refused the 32-year-old midfielder’s proposal as they don’t want him to leave for free, with Serie A outfit, AS Roma, still interested in taking the Dutchman back.
PSG are asking for €6 million this summer for Wijnaldum despite the former Liverpool midfielder’s contract with the club expiring next summer.

The German manager admitted the 32-year-old greatly influenced how he prepares for big matches against top teams in the Premier League, which he believes his current team is yet to fulfil.
Wijnaldum joined Liverpool in the first summer transfer window under Klopp and became an instrumental member of the first team, making a total of 237 appearances for the Reds across five seasons.
