- Mikel Arteta has opened up on the major tactical changes he intends to make this season
- The move is aimed at handing Arsenal the advantage in more tactically-demanding games

Mikel Arteta has inadvertently disclosed the major tactical change he is employing this season with the hope it will help him beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.
Arsenal came close to winning the domestic crown last term for the first time since 2004 following an impressive run of form.
However, Arteta's charges fell short in that mission despite topping the charts for the better part of the campaign, with City seeing them off in the title race to retain the trophy.
According to The Mirror, the Gunners' boss mounted a title challenge based on a settled line-up with a 4-2-3-1 system which served them well.
The only tweak that Arteta employed with his largely predictable team tactics was using an inverted full-back.

However, that is unlikely to be the case this season, with Arteta expected to keep opponents guessing using different formations and tactics.
This has largely been occasioned by the signing of more versatile players in the shape of Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, who joined the club this summer.
Arteta has since disclosed his intent to play to his team’s strengths and opponents’ weaknesses in a bid to put Arsenal on the advantage side of things.
“We are going to need to do that in a different way, for sure. It’s a different context that we have this season. One is down to competition for places but as well the players we have and interactions, positions they can occupy as well," he said via The Mirror.

Football“I I love it. Because it gives you more options, better players, more chances to do what you can when you have to change the game, we have to change things and we’re going to ask players to do it naturally, not to force it when you don’t really know when that fits," he added.
Arsenal will be back in action on Monday night against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
