It was an evening to forget for Chelsea in East London, particularly for their expensive signings, who did things that favoured their opponents instead of their own team.
From the last time Chelsea played a Premier League game, they have spent £163m on securing the signatures of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, both from the grasp of Liverpool.
This adds to the £106.8m signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January; the Blues now boast of a midfield trio worth £279m.
This is yet to translate into results, and it could take time, as seen in their 3-1 loss to West Ham.

The penalty loss proved costly as Michaol Antonio sent a blistering shot past Robert Sanchez in the second half. Caicedo conceded a late penalty while the team chased an equaliser, and the opponent was one man down.
Another expensive signing in Chelsea's books, Mykhailo Mudryk, hijacked from Arsenal in January, had a poor outing and was primarily a spectator after coming on in the second half for the injured Chukwuemeka.
The actions during the game and the outcome allowed rival fans to feast on the club on social media.

Rival fans troll Caicedo
Sports Brief reported that Caicedo was subjected to trolls by rival fans after the British record transfer signing conceded a late penalty while his team was chasing an equaliser.
His cameo in the game was not impressive, albeit he is still settling into his new environment. However, that proved to be a meal for rival fans who showed no mercy to the 21-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder.
