Lionel Messi is now the most decorated footballer in history after he won the 44th trophy of his career. Messi starred as Inter Miami beat Nashville FC to win the Leagues Cup.
It was Messi's first trophy in the Major League Soccer despite only joining a month ago. His win saw him pull off clear from Dani Alves and become the only player at the top with the most trophies in football.
Messi bagged his 10th goal of the tournament as Inter Miami won the trophy on post-match penalties. Messi'goal was cancelled out by a Fafa Picault finish from close range.
The game went directly into post-match shootouts and after 11 penalties apiece, Nashville goalkeeper Elliot Panicco missed his effort to hand Messi and his first title in the Major League Soccer. It was also Inter Miami's first-ever title in history.

As if he knew, the Argentine striker stood in front of the television hoping Callender saved the last spot kick, which he did, and Aguero burst into celebration in his living room.
