NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo performed Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic Siuu celebration right before Lionel Messi's game in the Leagues Cup final.
Lionel Messi's Inter Miami were facing Nashville FC in the final after a brilliant run following Messi's arrival on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has revitalized the fortunes of the David Beckham-owned club, scoring in every game since joining them.
Milwaukee Bucks star Antetokounmpo who is also the owner of Nashville FC, was in attendance at Geodis Park ahead of the final. They had seen off Monterrey in the semifinals, while Inter Miami had beaten Philadelphia Union.
Antetokounmpo hits the Siuu
Antetokounmpo took the pitch before kick-off and did the Ronaldo celebration in a clear and apparent message that he was rooting against Messi in the final.
He, however, revealed that it was the first time he was in the opposing corner of the Argentine despite doing the celebration of his greatest rival.
"It's gonna be the first time I'm rooting against Messi," as captured by GOAL.
Messi bagged his 10th goal of the tournament as Inter Miami won the trophy on post-match penalties. Messi'goal was cancelled out by a Fafa Picault finish from close range.
The game went directly into post-match shootouts and after 11 penalties apiece, Nashville goalkeeper Elliot Panicco missed his effort to hand Messi his first title in the Major League Soccer.
