Nigerian international Victor Osimhen found the back of the net twice as Napoli defeated Frosinone in their opening game of the 2023/2024 Serie A season.
Going into the fixture as the reigning league champions, the Partenopei showed class inside the Stadio Benito Stirpe on Saturday.
The hosts opened the scoring as early as the 7th minute of the encounter after Abdou Harroui put them ahead from the penalty spot.
Matteo Politano pulled one back for the visitors in the 24th minute, and then Osimhen put his side ahead just before the break.
Vavel reports that the Nigerian was on hand to complete the win after being sent through on goal by a Di Lorenzo’s pass, he placed low a precise shot past Stefano Turati in Frosinone’s goal to make it 3-1.

Meanwhile, a UK-based columnist, Tom Collomosse, has stated that not signing Nigerian international Victor Osimhen this summer.
United managed a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their opening league game of the season, but they struggled in the attack.
The Red Devils lost their second league game 2-0 to Tottenham and fans of the club are said to be concerned.
Tom Collomosse believes United will continue to struggle and will eventually regret not making the move for Osimhen.
