FootballMbappe: PSG Chief Issues Threat to Star Following Intense Argument, Reports
- Kylian Mbappe’s immediate future continues to hang in the balance
- The forward has recently been reinstated into the first-team fold at Paris Saint Germain
- Nasser Al Khelaifi reportedly threatened the French captain in a recent bust-up
Kylian Mbappe’s immediate future continues to dominate the headline after the forward made clear his intent not to extend his contract at the Ligue 1 giant.
Paris Saint Germain has explicitly conveyed their expectation for the forward to either extend his contract or face the possibility of being transferred this summer. The forward was recently relegated to the undesirable team after initially excluding him from the team’s preseason tour to Japan.
Both parties looked to have resolved their dispute when the club announced the 24-year-old forward had been reinstated into the first team fold; however, reports from media outlet L’Equipe have stated otherwise.
The French media recently reported a heated argument between Mbappe and PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi following a meeting between both parties.
Mbappe, Al Khelaifi heated argument
PSG held a meeting with Mbappe on Tuesday, August 8. There were reports of heated moments during the parties present at the meeting, and Marca quoted the PSG chief Nasser Al Khelaifi to have said to Mbappe:
“You'll see, you won't play again! You'll never play again! We won't give up!".
The attacker’s response was reported to be instant, and he is quoted to have said:
"You'll see, what will I see? You'll be the only president who won't let me play!"
It remains to be seen how the events unfold between both parties in the coming months. It should be recalled Mbappe’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the current season.
