Al-Hilal are set to complete the signing of Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, their 7th major signing of the summer.
The Saudi Pro League club have signed some top players this summer, including Neymar, who joined the club earlier this week from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Al-Hilal are expected to buy the Serbian striker for a deal worth €50 million. Mitrovic was not part of Fulham's Premier League clash against Brentford, a clear sign that his departure was imminent.
The Cottagers finished tenth last season, their first season after getting promoted, and their coach Marco Silva hinted at some of his players leaving this summer.
“We had to be ready as a club for the consequences from the season that we had”, he said on Friday. “If you perform like we did, if you do something that no one expected, something great, of course this club is probably receiving more offers than ever,” via Evening Standard.
Mitrovic has been with Fulham since 2018 after leaving Newcastle United. He became a key player at Craven Cottage and even signed a lucrative five-year contract until 2026, two years ago. He then broke the Championship goalscoring record, helping Fulham get promoted in the process, per the Guardian.
Who else have Al-Hilal signed?
The Riyadh-based club have already signed Rúben Neves from Wolves, the Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Lazio’s Sergei Milinkovic-Savic, Neymar, Malcom, and goalkeeper Bono from Sevilla.
Saudi Arabia clubs, including Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli. Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, and Riyad Mahrez are some of the players that have moved to the Middle East country.
