Kylian Mbappe melted the hearts of many after he took to Instagram to celebrate the recovery of his teammate and friend Sergio Rico.

The 29-year-old Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper was involved in an equine accident with a mule cart during a festival in his home town in Seville on May 28.

Rico, who was rushed to the hospital after sustaining severe head injuries pilgrimage in El Rocio, was placed in intensive care and was subject to numerous operations during the first 38 days of his injuries.

However, per reports from Sports Illustrated, the Spanish international has recovered and is now fit to go home after being discharged.

Mbappe, who has dominated the headlines for matters related to his immediate future, took to Instagram to celebrate the recovery of his teammate.

The PSG shot-stopper whose accident dominated the headlines took time to speak to the press after his discharge from the hospital.

Quoted by Goal Rico said upon leaving that medical facility:

“Good afternoon, everyone. I feel quite well. It is necessary to maintain a few months of peace and quiet, to continue to be at home.

“I wanted to say a few words to thank my family and my wife for their respect. I wanted to thank the football world that has sent me messages of support.

Everyone who has stopped for a minute to give me support. I thank them. Also, of course, to the Hospital Virgen del Rocio, who are professionals of the highest order.

“I feel very emotional. Thanks, above all, to my wife, who has spent almost 20 hours a day with me.
