Neymar got a celebrity welcome from Al Hilal supporters when he arrived in Saudi Arabia to kickstart the next phase of his career with Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal.

The 31-year-old forward parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain after six years in France to join the array of superstars who have moved to Saudi Arabia this summer.

According to GOAL, When Neymar arrived in Riyadh, Al-Hilal fans flocked to the airport to greet the Brazilian superstar as he was given a hero’s welcome to the Middle East.

The former Barcelona winger will join the ranks of Malcolm, Ruben Neves, and Kalidou Koulibaly, who have all joined the Saudi Pro League team this summer.

Neymar is expected to make his debut for Al Hilal next Thursday against Al-Raed but will first link up with his new teammates to kickstart training almost immediately.

Al Hilal sell 10,000 Neymar jerseys

Meanwhile, following the announcement of Neymar’s transfer to Al Hilal, the Saudi Pro League club revealed they sold over 10,000 Neymar jerseys in seven hours online, MARCA reports.

The jersey bearing the No.10 swiftly sold out within a matter of hours following the former PSG’s star unveiling, who is now the latest superstar to graze the Saudi Pro League.

Fans are delighted with the Brazilian superstar's arrival to the Riyadh-based club and are looking forward to his debut against Al-Raed next Thursday.

Neymar lauds Ronaldo for Al Hilal move

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Neymar finally completed his move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal on a two-year deal. Al-Hilal paid a fee said to be worth €90 million for the Brazilian.

The former Barcelona man has credited Cristiano Ronaldo for leading the way to Saudi Arabia. The Portuguese legend was the first big football star to move to Saudi Arabia in December.

Since the Real Madrid and Manchester United legend joined Al-Nassr, top football stars from European clubs have been flocking to the Middle Eastern country, and Neymar is the latest high-profile footballer to sign with a Saudi Pro League club.
