FootballArsenal YouTuber Blasts Cristiano Ronaldo: “He’s a Stat Padder”
- Cristiano Ronaldo has been labelled a 'stat padder' by Arsenal YouTuber, Lee Gunner

- Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 after terminating his contract with Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo is regarded as one of football’s greatest players, but not for popular Arsenal YouTuber Lee Gunner, who has labelled the Al-Nassr forward a ‘stat padder.’
Ronaldo has won a total of 35 major trophies throughout his career and the Portugal icon also holds the record of the highest goals scored by a footballer, with 844 goals in 1174 appearances for club and country.
According to Sportskeeda, Lee Gunner has now revealed that Ronaldo will not make his top 50 list of football’s greatest players, despite the fact tat the forward has found success in every league he's played in, including the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.
"Ronaldo isn’t in my top 10 players [of the last 20 years] list mate, let’s not go there. I’ve said this before, he’s not even in my top 50 of all time. Are you forgetting how old I am? I’ve seen proper footballers and Ronaldo turned into just a stat padder."
Ronaldo has scored 20 goals and provided two assists in 25 appearances for new club Al-Nassr and recently guided the club to win its first-ever Arab Club Champions Cup.
Messi’s downplays Ronaldo rivalry
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been embroiled in a great, though respected, rivalry, but it is clear that they have come to have quite different perspectives on the Ballon d'Or, Daily Mirror reports.
Messi's recent comments on the special award hint that another golden ball for his collection would be a pleasant addition, but for Ronaldo, the honour has been a motivating element throughout his career.
Zlatan Ibrahimović, Thierry Henry and Neymar among the 10 greatest players never to win coveted Ballon d'Or
FootballRonaldo has won the Ballon d'Or five times, most recently in 2017, while Messi is the record holder of the award after winning the Ballon d’Or seven times in his career.
Neymar’s thoughts on GOAT debate
Earlier, Sports Brief reported the 'war' between Messi and Ronaldo has continued even after they left European football, with their 'pull' being used as a comparison parameter right now. Compared to the number of stars who've headed East, Messi has only been joined by Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Neymar's comments on Ronaldo's influence do not necessarily change his opinion on what he thought about the two. In an interview in 2016, he picked Messi's left foot over Ronaldo's right foot.
The 31-year-old called Messi a 'genius'. The two share a close relationship from their Barcelona days before they linked up once again at Paris Saint-Germain.
