FootballDavid de Gea: Bayern Munich Call Off Deal to Sign Ex-man United Goalkeeper
- Bayern Munich have decided not to sign ex-Manchester United star, David de Gea
- The Bavarians are in search of a new goalie following Yann Sommer’s departure
- De Gea was released by Manchester United after 12 seasons with the Premier League club
David de Gea’s hunt for a new club continues as Bayern Munich have pulled out of the race to sign the former Manchester United goalkeeper this summer.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper was released by the Red Devils after 12 years at the club following the acquisition of Andre Onana from Inter Milan for a fee of £48mil.
According to GOAL, Bayern are instead expected to sign Daniel Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv to solve their goalkeeping woes, with Yann Sommer off to Inter Milan and Manuel Neuer still out injured.
The Bavarians are said to be in the process of finalising the deal for Peretz before making an announcement before the end of the week as De Gea continues his search for a new team.
Real Madrid had been interested in taking on the Spanish goalkeeper before they opted for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined Los Blancos on a season-long loan move.
Saudi club snub De Gea
Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have agreed a deal to sign Moroccan goalkeeper, Yassine Bono from Sevilla, opting against signing ex-Man United shot-stopper David de Gea, United In Focus reports.
The news of Bono’s arrival at Al-Hilal means bad news for David de Gea, as the Spaniard still does not have a new club.
De Gea risks not playing football in the 2023/24 season as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Al-Hilal have all snubbed the former Spain number one this summer.
