Former Watford captain, Troy Deeney, has disclosed how Odion Ighalo's support for Manchester United resulted in their defeat to the Red Devils at Old Trafford in 2016.
Ighalo, who eventually saw his childhood dream of playing for the English giants come true, had the chance to win the game for the Hornets on March 2, 2016, but failed to take advantage on a cold night at Old Trafford.
Juan Mata scored a late freekick to secure all three points for the 20-time English champions.
According to Deeney, Ighalo could have even squared a pass to him for Watford to win the game, but reluctantly rolled the ball as David De Gea came out to save him side.
"Me and him had so many arguments, he is so selfish but in a good way," said Deeney on BBC Sounds.
"I will never forget Man United away, and he is a Man United fan, like a proper United fan. He used to wear their t-shirt to training. He's took about four million pictures before the game, he's facetiming everyone back home and I am like, bro, we have a game now," he added.
"You know captain, Ettiene Capoue, he put Iggy (Ighalo) in four times, third one, he could just square it ad I will tap in, because we were both in and we both beat the offside trap and the ball just rolls to De Gea. This guy will not look at me for the next hour.
"I was raging like a Pitbull, foaming in my mouth. We lose the game 1-0. Mata scores in the 98th minute. They had to keep me out of the dressing room. They flew back but I drove back. We should have won that game."
