  • Paul Pogba rejoined Juventus as a free agent last summer after six years at Manchester United
  • He barely made any impact as he struggled to stay fit throughout the season
  • Pogba will not start the season with Juve as he continues to recover from an injury

Paul Pogba could be back to play for Juventus in the 2023/24 season earlier than expected after he dropped a cryptic post on Instagram with a two-word caption.

Pogba rejoined the Old Lady last summer as a free agent after six years at Manchester United, having joined the Red Devils from Turin in 2016 for a world record £89m.

He signed a four-year contract worth £6.8m per year at Juventus last summer but featured in only 10 games last season due to injuries, meaning he received a whopping £680,000 per game played.

According to SportBible, the France international midfielder accumulated 172 minutes over the year, which meant that he cost the club £39,534 per minute played, despite not completing 90 minutes once.

Pogba hints at injury return

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba is not expected to start the new season for Massimiliano Allegri's team, who open the 2023/24 season against Udinese, but he could return for the second game against Bologna.

The 30-year-old has dropped a hint that he is very close to returning to action. He featured in the launch of Juve's all-black third kit and shared the photo on his Instagram page, with the caption "We're coming", suggesting he might be back soon.

The 2018 World Cup winner was in Saudi Arabia recently, fuelling speculation that he could be on his way out of the club, which would have allowed them to save costs on his salary due to his unavailability due to injuries.

The player received an offer worth £85m over three seasons but turned it down to stay in Italy, despite saying, "Tomorrow, we'd see" during a personal trip to the Al-Hilal facilities.

Pogba destroys Juve youngster

Sports Brief reported that Pogba destroyed youngster Joseph Nonge with a brilliant piece of skill during training, as shown in a clip which he shared on Instagram and in which he tagged the 18-year-old.
