President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu has appointed Senator John Owan Enoh as the new Sports Minister for the West African nation.

Enoh's political career

The new minister represented the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State in the 8th assembly that ran from 2015 to 2019.

Before then, he was a House of Representatives for Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency between 2003 and 2015.

ThisDay reports that the 57-year-old was a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) until May 2017, when he decamped to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

Enoh lost the Cross River governorship election to Ben Ayade.

Enoh's personal activities

The new sports minister loves agriculture as he reportedly owns numerous farms where he conducts arable farming and livestock production, Punch reports.

It was gathered that he also owns about 150 hectares of planted palms in his native Agbokim Waterfalls.

He loves the out-grower farming scheme, a corporate social responsibility scheme that empowers local small-scale farmers with arable and livestock to grow on their farms and later provides them with a market to sell these products.

First Lady hosts Super Falcons

Sports Brief previously reported on Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu welcoming Super Falcons players to the State House in Abuja.

The Lionesses of England ended their journey at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in the Round of 16 after winning via a penalty shootout.

While some players departed Australia for their different clubs afterwards, others returned to the country and were received by Mrs Tinubu.
