Al-Ahli forward, Riyad Mahrez, has congratulated his former teammates at Manchester City for making history following their UEFA Super Cup victory.
The UEFA Champions League winners defeated Sevilla on penalties to win their first-ever European Super Cup.
Mahrez, a member of the team that won the treble last season, was monitoring the game from his new base in Saudi Arabia.
After the match, the five-time Premier League winner took to social media to congratulate his former club for their latest success.
"Congratulations on making even more history," he wrote on Twitter.
Sevilla got off to a great start when Morocco striker Youssef En-Nesyri headed home from a Marcus Acuna cross in the 25th minute.
But the La Liga side were held back by a second-half equalizer from youngster Cole Palmer, which forced the game into penalties.
Nemanja Gudelj missed from the spot to hand the English champions the trophy.
"Happy to see the boys celebrating again. Congratulations Man City," wrote former captain of the club, Ilkay Gundogan on Twitter.
Manchester City started the season in the best way after beating Burnley in their league opener last Friday, as reported by Sky Sports.
