  • Hakim Ziyech is set to sign for Turkish club Galatasaray
  • The Morocco international was rumoured to be on the verge of a move to the Saudi Arabia league
  • He fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge and is not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans

Hakim Ziyech’s Chelsea nightmare is finally set to come to an end as the Morocco international is reportedly close to joining Turkey giants Galatasaray.

The 30-year-old has been an isolated figure at Stamford Bridge for nearly a year now and has seen his future subjected to lots of uncertainty.

In January, a potential move to Paris Saint Germain collapsed at the last minute and months later, he was linked with a transfer to the fast-growing Saudi Arabia top flight, only for medical shortcomings to hamper the move to Al Nassr.

He was not involved in Chelsea’s pre-season tour, an indication that he is not part of new boss Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

The Blues have been on a revamp of their squad, spending over £900m since American investor Todd Boehly took ownership of the club.

Amid a dramatic fall down the pecking order at Chelsea, Ziyech finally has some reprieve as football expert Ben Jacobs confirmed Turkish giants Galatasaray have agreed on a deal for a transfer.

Sky Sports News further reports that Ziyech is already on his way to Turkey to complete his medical.

Ziyech for Chelsea

Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax in 2020 for £33.3 million and was initially a key figure in the squad.

He famously helped Morocco become the first African nation to reach the World Cup semifinals in the Qatar 2022 edition.

Zaha tickles Galatasaray teammates

Sports Brief also reported on an interesting incident that saw Wilfried Zaha fail to control a simple ball on Tuesday, August 15.

Zaha was making his second appearance for Galatasaray on August 15 as the Turkish giants came up against Slovenian champions Olimpija Ljubljana, in a Champions League qualification game.

At some point, Zaha knocked the ball out for a throw-in and cameras immediately panned to his teammates, who appeared to be in hysterics on the bench over the incident.
